Since it's too nasty outside to fish I went down to the garage this evening to customize a few bucktails...What do y'all think. The bucktails are 3/4oz & 1oz. I really enjoy lite tackle jigging for big rockfish, even more than trolling for them. I hope these will do the trick.

Nah, just dressed 'em up with the eyes, but my neighbor and I are putting together everything to pour, paint and tie them ourselves. We've found a guy that will make custom molds for us...can't wait to get started!

Those look real nice. Just keep in mind, you will soon be tying so many bucktails that you will be giving them away to your buddies and wondering how you are going to use the ones you saved for yourself. Not that it's a bad thing.

If you're using Shawn Collins for your custom molds, he does great work. I've gotten a few from him. Been tying my own for a while and it's a great way to spend some time on bad weather days. Keep posting pics if you make some more....nice job on the pics you posted.

Ed,

Those really look nice!! Like you, i love LTGing. I was fishing the CBBT last week and used a bucktail like that when the current was really ripping. The shape of the head seems to help cut through the water well. Something that worked for me... i put on a BKD/BA etc (whatever you have with the flimsiest tail) and it really seamed to make a difference.

Graham,

I agree 100% on the soft plastic trailer. I like the Zoom Super Fluke in Pearl White with Chartreuse Tail...
