temp outside 16.co-op showing the water still at 37.5 at balt. always wondered how deep that meter was readin at.

Most temp. reports are from the surface.Water is densest at 38* so right now the bottom water is 1/2 * warmer then the surface.One reason that fish go to the deeper holes in wintertime. Skip

Dave - I've been watching that site and the Patapsco's water temps like a hawk all winter. The monitoring site is located next to the fireboats, not too far from the taxi pier at Fort McHenry. And I agree, sometimes water temps there just don't always respond like I would expect based on air temps. Certainly the Middle Branch at HH has gotta be near about frozen over by now... if not then it should be shortly. BTW, the temp sensor at this site is located 5' below low tide.

then thats where the corp. of eng. and navel reserve boats are.i used ta fish from that wall until 9.11 happened.
