Hi, I have an 8' Daiwa TD SOL casting rod, 1/2 to 2 oz, xh fast. I have a Penn Squal 400lphs on it. I fish mostly piers now, would this rod be good for flounder/ fluke. I like the rod and reel, rod is sencetive. Would this rod be to heavy of an action for flounder pier fishing. Thanks.

You should be fine with that rod and reel set up.

You should be able to catch anything in the bay with that XH rod. I prefer med to med/hvy. I would recommend if you plan on holding the rod and jigging all day you may want a lighter setup in weight. If you are on the pier laying the rod on the ground waiting on the bite then you are good with your setup.
