I just got off the phone with DNR. I had called to find out if they received my registration renewal and they told me that there is a backup of applications. They also said DNR will be honoring 2008 stickers through February, but she couldn't say whether VA was on board with that program. She said if I get pulled over to just have them call MD DNR. Uh, ok. Anyway, if you were wondering there's the scoop.

I got mine back in about a week as well. Was the first time I ever did it by mail. I usually just went to the DNR office and took care of it in just a few minutes. I went to the one in Calvert county. Might be a nice alternative to anyone who plans on fishing the VA waters.

Thats what we we going to go with, if we got pulled over.. Gotta say I was mildly surprised with no "officials" at Kiptopeake Sunday... In fact we didn;t see any police whatsoever the entire weekend... Budget cuts ????

For what its worth, I stopped by the DNR licensing office in Annapolis this afternoon to get boat registration and fishing licenses. There were 3 clerks there and no customers. I got everything I needed in about 5 minutes.

In case you haven't been there, the licensing office is no longer in the Tawes building. It is located at the intersection of West St. and Admiral Drive, across Admiral Drive from the Honda dealer.
