Looking for advice on the absolute best low drag down rigger weight for my down riggers. Currently I have a 10lb Ball wight,,,, was wondering if they make something that is of the same weight but much less drag?
Dyllan; We use 12 and 13# cannon balls for all kinds of slow to medium trolling speeds. We stay away from the pancake weights because we have found that they have a tendency to kite off to one side or the other when we turn or encounter a strong current. If you are looking to get deeper at faster speeds, you will need to either use a Z-Wing or large planer. They will get you deep but you will have to be mindful of the stress they put on your downrigger gear.
