I want to take the 15' foot canoe and fish Dragon Run this spring for pickeral, crappie, bass, etc. Never fished it before but heard it can be good. Can anybody give me any suggestions on any reasonable places to put in and what I could expect. I am also not sure a paddle canoe is a reasonable way to fish Dragon Run but its all I have in terms of a small shallow platform.

You might also want to contact Capt Chris Newsome at Chesapeake Bay Fly Fishing & Light Tackle Fishing Charters in Virginia .

Last summer he took me up the Dragon via the Piankatank in a Gheenoe - similiar to a canoe and had a blast. Excellent guide - catch and release only.
