Went south Monday for our annual cobe chase well cobe wait I should say. 8-1/2 hrs with bait in the water with 2 sharks, 6 rays and 2 cobe came to the net and in cooler. Both around 43" one was a male and the other female. LONG DAY but worth it!

VA lets you have 1 fish per person, 2 fish per boat max, min size 40" overall (was 37) and only 1 fish can exceed 50", no gaffs on cobia and the season closes after aug 30, VMRC has all the details posted online. We anchored and chummed like the old days but were surrounded by sight casters, my boat is too small for a tower or platform so drowning cut bunker and live eels is it for us, caught ours on bunker with a fishfinder rig. Lots of details on cobia fishing online especially VA section of TF, look up some old posts by some of the masters down there really interesting if you're considering going COBE HUNTIN.
