Found this washed up on Assateague...can anyone confirm this is a dolphin skeleton? Also pulled a few of these from the surf....he was small so C&R but I've never seen one of these in the bay. Looked like a longer & skinnier croaker with a sucker mouth. Eventually pulled in one that had been cheweed on a bit.

The skeleton is a Cutlass fish and the one you're holding is a Round head or Whiting.

You're right, I looked up Cutlass and should have blown the photo up.

Brother has a grey whale vertebrae that looks just like those, so I'm thinking that is a dolphin.
