The Article Titled "Big Rubba: by Capt. Gene Quigley shows on page 19 lying on a piling four lures with plastic. The question that I have is the lure that looks like a BKD has the hook coming out of the solid side of the soft plastic. I had always thought that the hook should come out the side that has the channel in the plastic. What is the correct rigging of the hook on a BKD - solid side of the plastic or the side that has the channel cut into the plastic?:eek2:

If the bite is slow- some guys will rig it out the slit.It has a better action but tears easier. Most guys rig it out the back.

When the bite is hot-rig it out the back of the lure.Once it gets torn up - remove it and bite/cut 1/2 inch off.Throw the scrap in a trash can -not over the side.

Now hook the lure again  - you can cut it back 2/3 times to save a few dollars .

I like the way the cut off lure rides against the leadhead.
