does anyone kayak fish on the Patapsaco? I just got a kayak this year and have been fishing for pearch but have had no luck with anything larger. Does anyone care to pass on some tips, tricks or spots to try out in the spring on the Patapsaco?

I've been fishing the Patapsco from a canoe for years. I generally don't get serious there for stripers until mid summer and into the late fall. But the river has been having a tuff couple of years as of recent. Seems to be plagued with early/mid summer algae blooms that keep the water fairly dirty looking and the fishing poor. Once the weather starts to cool in the fall it gets clearer and the fishing improves.

I've noticed the lack of talk as well. I'm not sure if they're keeping secrets, or if the lackluster results from the last several winters has caused people to give up on the river and they aren't out there trying. I did see the harbor hospital area iced over a few weeks back, and wanted to get out but didn't have time. I once had a killer day at the Bresco discharge when I had to break skim ice to get there.
