Fishing in the Chester River is hot. From the mouth of the Chester to the Crumpton Bridge. The East Neck Island bridge they were catch stripers up to 30" on rattle traps. Also from the Chester River bridge in Chestertown at night using rattle traps.
Went fishing Monday at day break, caught a 21" striper at 7:30 on a 1/4 oz jig with a grub on it and caught a 24" around 8:30 on a Utralight With a 1/32 inch jig with a @ inch grub on it. I was fishing from a spillway below a lake on the upper Chester River.
You can use a 12 foot boat just so the windy not blowing much.Went to the same spot Tuesday and Thursday and never got a striper bite. I guess it was because of the clear sky and full moon being out all night. I forgot to tell you i was fishing shore on top a spillway were a private lake dumps in to Foremans branch which dumps into the Chester.
