I remember reading a story about tuna fishing late in the year.I think it was Saltwater Sportsman.They wrote about the fact tuna are out there much longer then anyone fishes for them.Some longline boats go out deep in winter.

A few years ago in late Oct. the guys chunked in deep water near Washington canyon.They lower weighted butterfish 300-350 feet down to hook the tuna.they reported bringing up the entire school once one was hooked :yes:.
