The following options will be presented to the Finfish Committee on February 17th and a recommendation will go to the VMRC Commission to vote on on February 24th if approved by ASMFC Flounder Management Committee at the ASMFC meeting in Alexandria on February 3rd.

Option A: 19” 5 fish bag limit, no closure
Option B: 181/2” 5 fish bag limit, closed 7/21-8/3 or closed 2 weeks in Wave 3 (2 weeks in May or June)
Option C: 181/2” 5 fish bag limit no closure

Option C may be a hard choice because there is a chance that option would put us over our limit which would require more restrictive regulations in 2010.

I guess there goes any chance to have the "slot" the pricks lied about......may as well take them off the tagging list, what a waste of time....there goes 1000's wasted tags

for 99% of the people option C is no change from option A......849,725 fish released last year were 15 to 18.....so none of the above even apply

You might want to check out the Summer Flounder Management Board minutes from the October 2008 meeting where there was a discussion of slot limits that may result in a one fish limit on a coastwide basis. Go to Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission and look under breaking news and the Winter Meeting where you will find the Flounder Management Board and scroll down to Discussion of Slot Limits.
