I posted this on the fly fishing board but thought I should post it here as well...

Anyone have any recommondations for where to buy vices and materials for around 10 kids? I am going to be running a fly tying class at the school where I teach and want to make sure each student has their own vice to use. I will also be using the vices in the summer for a fishing camp that I run. The vices do not need to be anything special but need to be able to stand up to 9-11 years old using them. Any help would be appereciated.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for taking the time to work with kids and introduce them to fishing :clapping2::clapping2::clapping2:.

Although a lot of work/headaches - it is well worth it.

Jay,

HA! It's like a fly making sweat shop! I think they are going to sell them at an auction we have at our school to raise money for the school. If you have a vice send it on down. PM if you need the address. I really appericate the help Jay.

Are you strictly looking for smallish flies? A small table vice (either mount to a table or a piece of wood) is often cheaper, and certainly more durable than a decent fly vice. You can grab them at Lowes-
Wilton at Lowe's: 4-1/2" Workshop Vise
I use these to make up all my chutes, and dressed hooks, as well as flies... The fly vice just couldnt accomodate the larger hook sizes.
