Have some friends coming in from out of town tomorrow,1/25/09 and they want to go fishing. Heading out of Cobb's at around 9am. I know that the rockfish bite stunk today, and thats ok because we would be happy with BSB or Tog. Anybody else going to do that tomorrow?
I don't think that the Capt. wants to go all the wal to the Triangles, but does anybody know where else we might try? The CLT reef? Santore? Got some numbers that you wouldn't mind letting us use as a One Time Only affair?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....and hell, I'll do you one better....

anybody that can put us on some nice fish tomorrow, I'll give you a Penn 321lh. I've decided that its just in the way when I try to use it, and I can't get used to it. Its about 3yrs old and has been used maybe 10 times. It works perfectly.

tight lines

If your buddies are looking for something to catch and not have to do too much running around, the catch and release of stripers around the 2nd island has been pretty good. Lots of catching and fun for all. Depending on water conditions (looks like winds out of the north), you might want to try the Cape Henry wreck for togs. Stretch 25's on the stripers in the bay (remove the front treble hook and mash the barbs down on the rear treble or replace with a single hook on the rear), and crabs for the togs.

Forgot to add that I tried the striper fishing yesterday and only found the skunk. Ran up to Smith Island, tried trolling with very few marks and no fish. Worked Cape Henry to Ramada, then ran back to Rudee and trolled south to Dam Neck....no runs, no hits, no stripers. Ran just over 70 miles looking, but it sounded like I was not the only one having problems finding the elusive striped one!

You guys going out to the CLT in the morning have fun!!! Should be just like the rides at King's Dominion - blowing North @ 27 kts right now and over 20 since 1400.

However, you can drop off any seabass and togs at these numbers...

N36 24.081 W76 17.367 :D:D

Edit: Shoot...I'd be willing to give (3) 320 GTi's, (2) 320 LD's, and (5 1/2 (one blew up)) Jigmaster 500's for good numbers I don't have...:D:D:D:D

PM me if you want to sell the 321LH

Sorry no numbers for you that you can't easily pull.

I'm told the BSB may be thin at the triangles now. Water temp is getting low and according to those who I think know what they are talking about "pushing them out." Proven by the post last Sunday by the Healthg Grin who ran to the Cigar (too far for me) for BSB, blue and flounder action. Check out Ken's (Healthy Grin) post last sunday.

I had the same idea last weeked, something different to stay out of the CH fleet but decided to try striper. Nonetheless, didn't do either due to family crisis.

Tog may be your ticket at the in shore wrecks, CBBT and CH wreck. Might be slow but there but I know of a couple of guys who are going to try tomorrow w/clams.

PM me if you decide to sell the 321LH, I get joked for bringing mine on the boat all the time since I'm a right hander with only left handed reeling skills. Plus no one else will touch my rod!

REPORT FROM TODAY....:hammer:
I crewed today on a boat out of Rudee. Went WAY south the trolled all the way North to the golf ball. Thousands of birds and bait. No fish. Not even a knock down. Had a friend go WAY, WAY north........1 fish. Saw 2 fish back at the dock.

Good luck on what ever you decide to do and be safe.
