I worked at a marina on Pine Island last year and caught 30 inch snook at the dock.

You can launch at Pineland Marina and be right off of North Captiva and Cayo Costa in minutes. Live and rubber works. Plenty of people around at the marina to put you in the right direction.

Just got back from there last week, and again did great in the shallow Mangrove channels NE of Matlacha, with several snook on artificials.Had a great day also seeing lots of porpoise, manatee, eagles, rosette spoonbills, and heard a gator belly-call real close while walking the canoe through a really shallow area.(I may be a little crazy) Also spotted a large cat track(probably linx) in the sand through one mangrove channel The wildlife is amazing!
Enjoy! :cool2:
