Not sure what the purpose of this is bill is except to generate revenue as some localities already have this type of fee. Hopefully, I will be able to find out more.

Summary as introduced:
Local motorboat registration fee. Authorizes a county, city, or town to impose a local motorboat registration fee on motorboats subject to the locality's tangible personal property tax. Each registration would be for a period of 36 months. For purposes of the fee, the bill also would create separate classifications for motorboats weighing less than five tons and motorboats weighing five tons or more.

Wonderfull just what we need more taxes. Dont they relize that when they cut taxes revunue increases

A prime example is Maryland's cigarette tax. Since they have added a $2/pack tax, sales have dropped almost 60% in some areas. The intention was to get people to stop smoking, but all they did was to send them to other states to purchase them. One guy I know that runs a small gas station told me his sales have dropped 65% and he is going to stop selling because it's costing him too much along with the audits from the manufacturers and the state.
