I was just getting my tackle box in order for the Flats fishing starting up soon. I know I need to go pick up some more Bass Assassins and some popers. Whats the top Five things you take in your tackle box?

Circle Hooks and weights for cut/live bait if the water's muddy.
Assorted jig heads.
Assorted plastics.
Assorted plugs, BIG ones for top water.
20lb test, I use for leaders.

That's what I have.

SINGLE HOOKS PLEASE and NO BARBS (thats the law).

TA Pet spoons work really well (I was impressed w/ them last year). Large single hook is nice (most need to be SHARPENED:thumbup: ).

I also did well with big Half and half fly (Blue white and chart/white)and large clousers too....

yes yes yes BAs, BKDs, Stillwaters, etc etc

This year Im trying a large spinnerbait as well.

See ya all out there!

Eminent brother:
In my disorganized tackle bag for the Flats, you will find among other things:
1) 10" BKD's in Opening Night and Chartruce
2) 7" BA's in the same colors
3) Stillwater Smack-It Popper in chartruce
4) 1/4-3/4 ounce jig heads
5) lunch & water

For the CCNPP I take out the Smack-it and add lots'a BIG jig heads

Last year I put one of these Stump Striker things in my box ...

On the first cast, I felt a tap ... then tug ... and that started a 15 minute fight .... I landed my biggest carp of the season - 28lbs.

There is nothing worse than trying to release a fish that been hooked with all three trebles in the mouth. It's basically impossible to not harm the fish. Legal or not it's just not fair to a fish you are going to release anyway. Does anyone think trebles don't kill more fish? Do we really need the law to tell us whats right or wrong?
