Looking at a Gheenoe. It's a shallow water boat. Anybody got any experience with how they might handle in the Bay? Would they be safe there? Seems like a sweet setup for the flats.

Owned one for duck hunting. Not stable enough for me to be in the bay with however. They are good for small rivers and creeks.. I would think twice before using in the bay. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't take one anywhere near tidal water. Conditions in tidal waters can change in an instant.

Well, it looked economical anyway. Changing my thinking back to a 17' Wailer. I know that works for what I do.

I have had some experience with a Gheenoe. It is a great boat for small water. Had a friend who had the largest one with a 25 hp johnson. Went through swamps with him at night in the Ocala forest. Unbelievable ride at approx. 35 mph.

Not the boat for the bay.
