anybody know if the croaker are hitting in the great wicomico yet?

thinking about dunking some squid and/or shrimp and/or bloodworms this weekend.

the past few years, i've had good success in mid-may, but it's been a little cooler this spring, so i'm not sure what to expect ...

i would like to fish about a mile or so upriver from the 200 bridge.

any knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

well, i answered my own question on saturday afternoon.

got to the spot around 4:30pm, threw out some squid and bloodworms.

my buddy caught one white perch, and that was it.

2 hours, 1 small fish, no bites.

i guess i either just suck, or the fish are not there yet.

(we got there just before dead high, and the tide was moving out when we left - still no croaker!)

this is the same spot and date upon which i caught fish after fish last year ... oh well!

-heartbroken and unsatisfied in richmond

p.s.- it really hurts that i had brought my filet knife for cleaning fish at the dock, and had all the "fixins" for a proper fish fry back home!!!

I tried the GWR on Sat. Not a bite. Went up above the deep hole by the red light and down to the oyster bed, then to the mouth of the river and over by Mill Creek light with no luck. I should not be long until they are there.
