Saw a rig very similar to this being tested by either the Navy or the Volvo Penta folks at Ocean Marine out on the Elizabeth River about a week ago...once it was out of the no wake zone area, she took off throwing quite a rooster tail...looked like it must have had either jet drives or surface piercing drives from the size of the rooster.

Hmmm, I may need a bigger boat and a little faster... Oh yeah, I need to save $$ on my fuel bill too... I'd like to ride that ROCKET SLED...

I can tell you that they brought it over to demo it for the command a month or so back and it is a beast but hte military version sosen't have the configuration that the Civ would .......Expensive props and extremely finly tuned props. But it has a narrow beam which is one of its downfalls.
