Got a late start out of Great Bridge but we were in no great big hurry and got to Teaches around 630 or so, got the boat in and got settled. Had a good time walkin around and talkin with lots of internet buddies and friends I haven seen in a while. I guess while I was lolly gaggin around everyone picked up and hauled a$$ on me, oh well. Jimmy (Tat-Tuna) and I discussed a plan to head opposite directions then get in contact around mid day and see what the scoop was. We headed out the inlet in a blazing fury, that Cape Horn looked freaking sweet and the Bluewater was feeling good so I let er rip.Once outside I headed north to a spot to get some sea bass, grouper, and maybe some tiles.
About 8 miles up the beach I spotted 3 bee hives of gannets going to town on schools of bait and with the water temp at 45 degrees visions of gaffing some stripers quickly filled my mind  With out bucket of a thousand high speed jigs we dropped down on the bait mark and after about 10 minutes of seeing no big fish marks we moved along to the deep.
Well we got the sea bass, and they were all big and fat, some small snowy's (only kept 1), and struck out on the tiles.
1130 rolled around and I wanted to see if the water had pushed in and I found it, and in a little spot that I have worked before and found to hold fish regularly I found fish marks. Within 15 minutes we had 3 blackfins in the boat and started to play with the AJ's and FA's. I figured it was just getting started and called Jimmy and Bill (Hit-n-Run) over to work it with me. Well a few other boats pulled up and we all jigged these small marks, Im not real sure how the other guys faired but we ended up with 10 tunas on the Gaff, with quite a few more small blackfins released, thousands of FA's and a ton of AJ's. The weather slowly deteriorated throught the afternoon we headed home in pretty nasty conditions. What a day on the water. Man I love fishing Hatteras!
