I dont want to run all the way down to point lookout on Saturday. I'm hoping with this warm weather some fish will still be within @ 10-12 mile boat run out of Solomons? I don't need to catch 20 fish, just a couple would suffice my craving for the last trip for the Lily before I put her to sleep until March 09:thumbup:

Go as far south as you can go, that is all I am going to tell you (water temp at solomons tues. was 40.5 degrees=less bait=less fish)believe me it was pretty much dead out there. I would go out of plo and go south, if i were you. Ayway good luck.

I agree with you on the water temp, anything under 42 is not good. I will leave solomons and head south east for a while to a find some bait?? When I go fishing , if I catch a fish its a bonus, just being on the water with good friends is what fishing is to me:thumbup: I was thinking of a run to the promise land but it will be a zoo this weekend and I have to work Monday

out in the channel, all the way up to 40 feet was all around 40 degrees

JB: I was out on Tuesday out of Solomons and the temps were:

37 in Back Creek
38.4 in the Pax
39.5 just outside the mout of the Pax
40.2 down by HS

We caught one fish just North of 72A in 100' of water as we were crossing from the Eastern side back over to the Western side. The marks were all along the bottom with NO bait marked all day.

The past 2 days have been significantly warmer, so I would think that the temps are up at least one degree. Good luck to everyone going out this weekend!

it was 43 two days ago and we didnt catch untill we hit 45 degree water temp..and yes it was down by smith point...two warm days. hoping bouy 70 is alittle warmer....let ya know tomorrow

I'd suggest going out of PLO for two reasons. More than likely you're going south as many and I would suggest but you also have 15 mi of in/out in Solomons that you don't have at PLO == more fishing time in the location that's the most promising. Just a thought and happy holidays!!

Anybody ever fish around the mouth of the rappahannock? Might try to get down there early next week to give it a try.
