I'm looking for advice on any potential ways to help my aluminum T-Top look better. The T-Top is 12 years old, and the boat was stored in a highly corrosive environment. As such my T-Top tubes are showing some extreme pitting. I have tried several polishes, but nothing has removed the oxidation. Any advice other than having the top rebuilt?

There's no easy/inexpensive way to get the pitting out. The only solution is to sand the tubes down, but that removes whatever is left of the anodizing as well. If you do that, you'll have to get it powdercoated or painted for protection.

Try "Woody Wax", ... really good product. We use it on t-top and tower legs. Directions say to let it sit overnight on oxidized or pitted aluminum. Results have been better than expected. It also has directions for severe cases where you use bronze wool so you don't remove the anodize.

I am going to try the woody wax method and see how it turns out. I don't mind the elbow grease if it will save the money of having the top removed and powder coated.

I'll try to post pic's before and after if there are good results.
