Does anyone know the basics on how this works? My 2005 300 HPDI has the gauge that isn't working now. It looked like a clear plastic hose ran to a sender in the transom. It was disconnected. Is that how it works or is that something else? I appreciate any help. Thanks!

My HPDI 200's have a tube that is hanging-must be for an option.
Look on the front of the lower unit housing-mine has a very small opening-almost like a nick in the housing. This gets a small piece of debri in it now then.I clear it -very carefully-with a small piece of trolling wire.Try to pick the debri out-rather then push it in.When I clear it out-a trickle of water comes out.I check this alot in the winter-that small amount of water could freeze.

You can call Ed Miller 410 375-1638-mobile Yama mechanic also. Skip

the guage on my motors is a tube that connects to a cooling water outlet on the side of the block & runs to the guage, it does at times get clogged & stop working, just have to clean it or blow through it
yours is probably similar

the opening on the front of the lower unit & the tube that seems to be disconnected on my Yamaha is for the spedometer hookup
