My hunting crew arrived on the farm in the early am yesterday to find that we had been invited to hunt a local Lunenburg County Horse Farm that was having a Deer problem.

W arrived at the farm to meet the owner around 7 am and he proceeded to let us know that he had way to many deer on his property and wanted them gone. It seem the deer were eating more of the feed he was putting out than the horses were. He had arial photos of the farm for us to look at to plan out day.

We headed out with 9 hunters looking to do this guy some good and have a little fun also.

End result was 14 deer out of the owners hair by noon. We decided to call it a day as we had lots of work to do taking care of the kill.

Of the 14 animals we took 5 were bucks with one being a nice 10 point and the rest were antlerless.

We hunted small areas of planted pines and cutovers using man drives and it worked out great.

Before leaving we received pemission from the owner to hunt the farm the last two days of the season which are doe days also. We also received permission to bow hunt next year.

DEAN who has a bacon wrapped backstrap on the grill as we speak.
