Is it time to go sharkin yet!! man his has been a long winter for me. The goose hunting is something to do, but it's just a filler.

I missed the drawing deadline for my wyoming elk hunt, so I'm feeling the need to stick something!!

I kinda thinkin mako mania again. Is your rigs ready?

Threshers should be around mid-May, and makos shortly after. I've been twisting rigs for a few weeks now and have some new tricks to try this year. I'll give you guys the biggest 3 tips to shark fishing. Let's see some sharking pics! Terry I know u got some.

1. Location
2. Fresh bait
3. Preperation

Thanks for the pics Russ! I’m dyeing to hook up with a Thresher or a Mako this year. I have been a few times last year with no luck. I think i will be having a rigging party soon to get myself ready. If you dont mind i might call on your expertise as i have before.

I know its not as awesome as those Thresher pictures, but who doesnt like to see a few shark pic? (Note: This shark was released, healthy and happy to bite again)

I'm guessing holding an irritable shark like that is somewhere in the Darwin Awards list :) Nice catch and seriously mean looking mug.
That is a sand tiger shark which are extremely docile. Yes they can still do damage, but they are not very aggressive at all. It would be up for the darwin award if it was a mako for sure!! The guys holding the shark were ready to dump it the minute it started to get irritated.

We had one last season in the fall on Team Bill Me that short struck a trolled Bally. I thought Blue Marlin and dropped a nice rig right into his mouth. Soon line was peeling like a freight train and I thought I had blue suit right where I wanted him. The minute I locked up the drag a huge blue missile shot 10 foot into the air. It was by the far the biggest I've seen in about 5 years. It only took him one second to chomp through my 200# Diamond leader.
