Nice job, I caught 3 herring couple days ago in the upper choptank. Perch fishing. I thought I noticed a few shad but was not sure. Seems the shad run at red bridges has changed.
Hickory Shad
Yesterday I was up the Raritan bay striper fishing but freezing even with layers of fleece on. We caught, but that's not what this report is for.
I had a friend who called me from the Octoraro creek catching hickory shad. I drove down this afternoon-wed 5 April- to try for a couple hours. It was 85 degrees today and I was in a t shirt. What a difference! They were surging up through the riffles and I fished the runs and managed to fair catch three. Snagged several others, but the point is, it's starting!
