We fished in the afternoon and started at the Cove. Water temp was about 57 degrees. We caught three dinks (<14") and lost a couple of dinks at the boat using shiners and 3" nuclear chicken swimming minnow. We saw a few other dinks get caught.

We went to the discharge and caught a few dinks there. That's where I caught and released a 13" tagged trout. I already reported it online. No discharge in the afternoon - 53 degrees.

Pretty slow for us compared to the last couple of weekends (30+ and 40+ respectively) since we decided to put the majority of our time in at the Cove as opposed to the discharge. We think the Cove is ovverrrattteddd and overfished, but as we were fishing, Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" song came on and we caught a dink, so that's our theme song for our Cove mix tape.

We tried to fish the light line after dark in case there were any schoolie stripers around, but no luck.

By the way, I got a Lewmar Delta anchor and that thing is a beast. I previously had a Chene anchor from Bass Pro that couldn't hold my boat.

Thanks for the report. Cant go wrong with the nuc chicken. When does it start to slow down for the winter? I know I went last march or april sometime and didn't catch anything at all. I reported a tagged trout a couple months ago and just got a little package in the mail. They really do send a prize. I'm gonna have to try that theme song trick in the cove next time I go. I wonder what song will catch a citation...
