I know this sounds crazy but I have four pairs of waders all with felt soles, three are the type with the boot attached and one that the boot fits over so with the impending ban on felt coming I'd like to know - is there are any good ways to remove the felt bottoms rather than having to buy new waders? I bet I can tear off the top layers of felt with pliers but I doubt I can get all of it off. I could probably burn off the remaining felt with a torch but what's left on the boot will probably stink to high heaven.

Another idea I just thought of is - tear off as much as I can then dip the boot in that rubber dip that you can buy at home depot for coating tool handles. I doubt that stuff will be very durable and probably very slick but it might work.

The final question - whats the best add-on product to help with traction? I've seen those steel cleats that strap on like snow shoes but they don't look ideal, looks like I'll probably be taking a few dixies this season....
