I have never fished with eels before, and would like to find out how to rig them and fish them. Do you drift or put the anchor out, what time of year is the best to fish with them. Always would like to have more info to use if trolling for the Big hawgs is not working that day or night. Thanks for the the info.

I second the chumlord site podcast for eeling. Heck, all of his videos are all good.

My question is, I catch eels frequently in my minnow pot in the late summer, usually one per weekend. Usually they are at least 8 inches but average 12 to 15 inches. I'm assuming I could keep them in another minnow pot for several weeks until I need them as bait. Is there any "perfect" size eel for drifting by structure during the season?
