I was at a friend's place today, and seized the opportunity to fish some water in between the ice chunks. I only managed to see one fish, but I did get her. My first of this new year and she was at 22 1/2".

I was hesitant to post after uploading the pictures, as in the full-length photo, she has her tail curled up. The second shot shows her with her tail flat (lens cap included). You guys decide.

Mill, nice one man! It's iced up everywhere now, I was hoping to get out Frid, but we are iced up here also.

Hey I read somewhere online that the state released close to a million fingerling Yellow Perch in the severn in 07. You guys seeing anything yet!

According to my unofficial calendar, the bucks should be here anyday. We start the 3 or 4th week of Jan.

Anyone know the water temp right now?

Bart,

This is the first fish I've caught this year. I've been out 4 times. No yellows. Not sure what the other guys are doing.

Thanks Mark.

Nice fish!

Are you guys seeing many 17"-18" fish? A couple years ago 9 of 10 fish that I caught were that size. I'm wondering if we're just seeing that big year class grow up, or if folks just aren't posting about the smaller ones. From the looks of the leader board, we have a nice grade of Pickerel in the Severn right now.

Goose,

I thought you were the spelling patrol (inaugural).
I can't speak for anyone else, but that's the only fish I've caught; so no. No little fish where I am. :D

Goose as official SRRKC spell checker -- I don't think so.

I have had to call him out repeatedly on spelling issues. For all we know, he has his law firm secretary take dictation then type in his posts.
Now I know that you are looking through my office window sometimes.

Fished again today. The overnight cold with no winds made clear areas froze once again for most of the day today. Tomorrow looks good, but I'm working.

It was kind of cool though. I could hear the ice moving and breaking apart all over the river.
