I am looking to purchase a new Yahama or Honda 4 stroke in 25-30 HP. Can anyone give me the name of an honest place where I can purchase one. I live around Lancaster Pa., but will travel to northern Maryland or Delware if need. Thanks in advance.
give BOE Marine a shout on a Honda. They are a new Honda dealer and may be anxious to move a motor. They have treated many TF's well and have a great reputation. I am sure that will transfer over to their motor sales. Call and ask for Jim
Cedar Creek in Delaware often has the best price on Yamahas.
It might pay to call as many dealers as you can - right now most are more then willing to cut a good deal.
Tri- State in Deale is worth a call as well.
Be sure to ask about warranty - you should get 5 years at no cost . Never hurts to ask for some goodies to be thrown in- maybe some oil or Ring Free ;-) - anything that will sweeten the deal.
Got my F150 at Rudy marine last feb. Best prices around and no tax in Del. Rudy Marine 4110S. Maryland ave Wilmington DE 19804. Installed in two weeks.
There is a Honda dealer in Hanover, PA. The name is Hanover Motor Sports, or something like that. I have heard they are reputable. Look on the Honda Marine website's dealer locator.
Yup. Buying in DE would save you 6% in sales tax over maryland dealers right there. Shorts marine sometimes offers low priced motors as well. I bought props from them over the phone and they were good to deal with that way.
I bought a Yamaha 9.9-hp 4-stroke from Tri-State in Nov. They offered me a very good price (lower than the local competion was offering at the time). I have used Tri-State for all my service over 15 years and 4 boats. I will continue going back.
I got a new outboard from Almars in Delaware. They were great help and had the best prices of any place I looked. They sell nothing but Outboards and by the way there is no sales tax in Delaware...SSAviiingss
Ditto on Almar's. I didn't want to put big bucks into an old boat so a Mercury factory remanufacture that Almars offers was the answer. My 225 Optimax runs great and was half the price of a Yamaha four stroke from Shorts.
Lots of opinions here, so I guess I will add mine. Hooked on the Bay in Northeast, Md is a good, honest, family owned operation. I bought my boat and motor from them and still take it back there for service every year. They sell/service Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki.
