Sounds like a vapor lock somewhere in the system. The engine apparently cannot pull in enough fuel to continue to run. Somewhere on the engine there should be a vapor lock canister or something similar--check the manual. It could be called an O2 ssensor.

Hello,
A knock sensor is a small microphone that screws into the cylinder head; it looks like a small can with a single electrical lead. When it is activated by a knock, it sends a signal to your on board computer to retard the timing. It is not the same as an O2 sensor which would be located in your exhaust to sense the oxygen level(a measure of unburnt gases). Most O2 sensors look similar to spark plugs. My experience is that knock sensors are pretty robust and don't often fail unless corroded or very old. Hope this helps.
