Wondering if the launch ramp at Sandy Point is iced in ? Has anyone been out from there lately or driven by to see if there is ice ?

Hoping to get the boat back this weekend and need some open water to launch/test her out.

I don't mind busting skim ice but would hate to get there and it be too thick to bust through.

No, it's open Skip. No skim ice that I could see from the bridge as of this evening about 4:30.

deep creek off the magothy is not iced in but my cove gets some skim ice on it you should be fine on saturday

You have to get your boat back in the water. Two Saturdays from now is Plungapalooza '09. There will be a bunch of Polar Plungers waiting for Jaws to chase them out of the water.

That might have been the polar plunge in North Beach. Sandy Point is the 24th.

What a difference a night makes. The cove at the boat ramps was iced over this morning, just skim ice but I bet it gets thicker pretty fast. Also some ice starting to pile up on the jetty. I'd say you could get out today, but dunno about tomorrow or later. Will keep an eye out.

I just went down to the magothy and there is ice in all of the coves plus there is ice forming on the shore line. Behind my house it is all frozen over too.
