Was there, too. Lines in at 8:15. First fish at 9:00. 39 inches.
Second and only other pull down at 2:00, 41 inches. Nothing like the reports from Thursday. Not much bait at all and only scattered baits. Beat the skunk, but we put in a good 7 hours.

Both fish, on the planers. 110 back or so, one hit white chute, the other chart.

That's fishin.

We slammed fish in the same area today . We had 33 bites and boated 28, with the biggest going 43. We had 14 fish over 40 inches. We had 8 fish on this morning @ one time and landed all of them.

Great day w/ some great friends. We wrapped it up and they where still biting @ 12:30pm

was there also. nothing I did hear that the charters wacked them hard today. I was able to mark really good bait.
The pros just have it dialed, my hat is off to em for being able to consistantly catch fish.
I am really starting to think its a numbers game also, look at the number of rods those guys are pulling.
I'm sick of pulling so many lines (10-12 and so much lead and tandems and umbrellas and so on). I cant wait for Spring to get back to the blue water with my sea witches and 1/4 oz. chin weights!

Heard there was an absolute wide open bite with gannets at the break of dawn. After 8 or so, nobody caught a cold. I spoke to three other boats, all good fisherman, who came a little late to the party and struck out.

Spoke to two boats who were there when it was happening. They each caught over 20 fish.

HI marker sits near the middle of the channel but favors the western edge - off Hooper's Island - hence H. I. on the marker. We often tease that it says Hi - and was put there by the friendly southern Md folks as a welcome marker :D.

It is a good spot to fish most years as well as the HS (Hoopers Straight ) about 5 miles south. The area between the markers has alot of deep water and the eastern edge has a wild drop off- the edge goes from 20 to 100 feet in 1/4 mile .
