Since there's no fish to catch this time of year I figured I would keep posting pics of my new boats progress. It's painted Ice Blue even though you can't really tell. You will be able to tell better when the plastic comes off and you can see the white topsides and I paint the bottom black. What color boot stripe looks good with ice blue hull and black bottom? I was thinking dark blue. Or should I paint the bottom blue with a white boot.

Awesome (even though it is tough to see that she is blue on my computer)

Personally I would go with a Red boot stripe and blue bottom paint (maybe even red bottom paint). I think that would look great with and ice blue hull!

I think that color combo with the nice white topsides it would offset the colors great and the red would really stand out. Just me though.

When I first saw the picture I was thinking right away, what is that 27' thing doing on a single axle trailer. Then, when I saw the jack stands in the back in all came together.

Great looking boat so far. Good luck with her.

Not to hijak, but what is the deadrise a the transom on teh 27 Judge? Looks pretty flat. Good on the drift and fuel efficient Im sure.

Judge 27 hull has a 45 degree entry, 24 degree mid ship, before flatening out to about 10 degrees. (look at the blade in photo number 1 :D) Get the deep entry down and she will chug through rough stuff nicely and burn little fuel doing it. She will also drift nicely. My cabin model with a single 225 Honda gets as much as over 3.3mpg at cruise. I can only imagine the speed and economy of Shore Things center console with a single 250 suzuki. I will be looking forward to him posting economy and speed numbers!

The Judge does have a flatter deadrise than other boats. However, the hull design mimics the typical "Carolina" warped plane hull with a sharp entry forward and flatter stern. I fish, run, and mate on a 2008 34 Judge Express and she rides like a dream in rough water and on the troll has no roll.

As for the color dark blue bootstripe, blue or black bottom.

Personal opinion is to not go with the black bottom paint. Definately blue bottom paint with the Ice blue sides. While I think a dark blue boot stripe would look nice, I still think the red would give a cool accent color.

Another cool choice would be to go with Petit vivid red bottom paint and a navy blue strip. Not sure how much more it would be to get the vivid paints.

I know this sounds crazy but I could never go with a red bottom on a fishing boat. I guess I think it would scare the fish away or maybe it reminds me of a picnic boat. Again I know it sounds crazy but its one of those mental things. I can see myself now, getting skunked the first time out and hauling the boat to paint the bottom a different color. Now that I think of it red may blend in better with how dirty the bay is now a days.

Haze Gray Stripe,Black Bottom.

Black bottom at rebottom finish time, grind down to
natural,refinish.
Black shows off all the bottom growth, even when you think
you have it clean, pull off safety's and see how close you are
to getting thruoght the tan color, time to be careful at that point.
Redo your stripe also.
Sorry man, thinking way into the future of that boat.
