My son hasn't caught a striper yet, ever in his 15 yrs. on this earth. I want to just take him out even past the 3 mile marker since this past weekend we didn't even get a hit at Cape Henry. So I want to take him out in deeper waters, for some catch and release.... Where should I go... never went out the 3 mile mark so I really have no idea where to go? I'm guessing the wreck near the CLT? Any suggestions?:helpsmilie:

I've seen and heard of several reports claiming some good C&R action between the 4th island and the Highrise.

yep....catch and release inside the bay is legal....outside of 3 miles in the ocean is illegal

Plenty of good action at the second island of the CBBT (oceanside). I was out yesterday afternoon and caught and released about 15 rockfish up to 27". All were caught on white bucktail with fin-s plastic trailer. The fish were schooled up on the north end of the island in 28'-35'. Just idle around till you mark the fish and then drift and jig...tons of fun!!

Looks like they are having some success out of Oregon Inlet in the last few days...
