This will be my last Wed report of the year and what a good year it has been...
made the trip down to CBBT Wed am with larry nimmo..Uncle phill met us at the ramp......we arrived at the ramp a little after 6am...only 1 boat in the water and no one in line.....Nice...
Ran out to 9ft shoal...NADA....down to the fourth...good piling bite and we worked the islands....
water temp is a mild 48*-49*...we had fog in the am and a W10...
Only found bird action once down by the first island.....
Decent grade of fish...we had 1 that would have been over but the fish said "Aah" at the boat and uncle Phill let the fish go....:D
We did have about half a dozen slots and 160 fish total....
We actually had 100 fish by 11am....than we did some searching for a better grade...most of those fish were 23-25"...a few 26's and 27's mixed in..
All 3 of us used BKD's and a few BA's with some Manns Hardnose mixed in...
jig head Weights varied from 3/8oz to 2oz...

Great talking to Andy Grandpafishjr...Giant tuna..Wild Bill...Pete..Tom Hughes..Shawn Kimbro..
Here's a couple of pics...
The bite down there is still not what you expect on 12/17 at CBBT...
Notice the rod on the bow is hooked up and I think we are in pretty good position....:D
Last Wed report of the year...gotta work the next 2...but will probably fish a different day...
Left my house at 3am...caught 160 fish...home by 8pm...wash boat put it away ....gotta be to work 5am........
Life is Good!.....
Later...........:D

Another great day!

Thanks again for the invite "Chief." Although this Indian's arrows were straight, the points may have been dull, lost a few really good ones during the fight and at the boat.
But we still managed tons of decent pullage. I was sure that "one" fish was 33.999" and would have to be returned anyway. ;-) The amount of sea lice was amazing. Another nice day on the water. Also, big thanks for turning me on to those sweet potato biscuits!

Excellent job doing the slalom in the pilings and moving away from rocks with fish on. I'm glad to help close out Wednesdays for 2008 and hope to be a larger part of Wednesdays in 2009!

Nice report Jamie...We were in the drift line beside you guys for a little while in the AM at the 4th. Pretty good bite there but not nearly the quality of fish that where there last year. We moved to the 2nd and found even more fish, but again, not a big grade of fish. A few guys caught a couple of red fish at the 2nd. I make one more trip down if I find a really good weather window. Looking forward to next years Wed. reports...maybe I can get out there with you one day. Have a Merry Christmas.

Been waiting for this report! Glad you guys had fun, and I am glad to finally see what Uncle Phill looks like without his shades!! Yea it was off when I was there too, but an off day at the CBBT is pretty darn good. We are most likely headed down the first week of C&R. last year first week of Jan was great, big fish and no boats- heaven. :cool2::clapping2:

You can't complain about 160 fish. I know guys all over the country that spend the entire day trying to catch a few bass or a few Redfish and maybe a couple Snook and call it a good day. We get spoiled thinking they all need to be big fish. But when you catch 160 fish I don't care if there Perch it's an awesome day in my book. But s--- where are the big fish? I think there waiting for me in January when the bite really turns on.:D Oh yeah one more thing your camera or camera phone sucks.

Phill called me on his way home and filled me in on your trip sounds like you guys caught a lot of fish and had a good time and I see you know how to spell Phill name. :D Also I see that Phill was thinking about me with his hat he has on. Thanks for the report and very nice pic’s and I hope to make it down there next week with JP

Nice work, Jamie. Good seeing you on the water yesterday. Sorry that bite at the 2nd tube died right after I called. Hot for a few. Our day was similar. We figured 150 with big fish a 16 pound 32 incher. Today started hot then died. We had 50 fish before 8:30AM and about 20 from then till noon. Hope we can get together down here soon.

Nice report there buddy. You're starting to wet my appetite, but will hold off for a week or so. Looks like the ocean trip is a blowout, but Phil and I have an evil plan to take it's place. We'll see if we are right. Will report.

Jamie:

Thanks for the info. After a slow morning looking for the big guys in the ocean we headed back in looking for some numbers. You put us right on the fish.

Glad you guys had a great day.

Thanks again for sharing.

Merry Christmas.

You couldn't get a nicer day in December and the catching was even better. Not sure where the bigguns were hiding but plenty of pullage. Here's how you all looked in that sweet parker hiding in the birds.....I think I can see phil hooked up too:D
