Anyone know a good software to convert loran # to Lat/Lon. and Lat/Lon. to loran?

unfortunatelly there is no such thing. I'll let the techno weenies and math majors explain why.

There is one commercial software (Windows and Mac) that does it: LORANGPS from Andren Software (Andren Software - LoranGPS Loran GPS Conversion Software, Plot, Map, Upload your coordinates to your GPS directly.). Downloaded the program is $85.

There is also a public domain program available from the International Loran Association, downloadable from http://www.loran.org/gptotd.zip

The problem with all conversions of LORAN to lat/long is the local variations of signal timing due to overland signal distortion. Unless you use the local-specific correction data, the software can only do +- 200 yard accuracy. The commercial software from Andren is reported to do a pretty good job with using look-ups for the local corrections.

Some better GPS units have a "ghost" loran program.You could put in your old loran #'s and see how close it gets you.

I found it to get you close but not perfect.

You can also plot your old loran #'s onto a chart - then read the lat/lon numbers that way.
