No doubt about it - kayaks offer anglers a great way to sneak up on fish. Each year we see more kayaks fishing - for good reason.

On Monday night - July 20th at 7:30 pm - local angler John Veil will speak about kayak fishing.

John will speak to the Broadneck Chapter of MSSA (Maryland Saltwater Sportsfishing Association) about kayak fishing

during the July meeting next Monday (July 20). The meeting will be held at American Legion Post #175, 832 Manhattan

Beach Road, Severna Park, MD 21146. The meeting begins about 7:30 in the lower level of the building.

John will have both a paddle kayak and pedal kayak on display to show how different styles of kayaks can be set up for

fishing. He'll talk about choosing a kayak for fishing, what types of gear/accessories are necessary, and which are optional

to make fishing easier or more fun. Most MSSA members fish from larger boats -- John will share his enthusiasm for fishing

from smaller vessels. The MSSA meetings are open to the public.

This sounds great! I would love to learn easier ways to crab from my kayak without outfitting it with anything too complicated.
