I know a lot of people that use cut bait for on the flats, but in the tidal portion of the Delaware River a lot of guys use Sibaki (sp?) rigs to jig for herring. Once they have a bunch of herring, they'll use circle hooks to drift fish the herring for Stripers ... does anybody do this on the flats or in the Susky?

Yes. Many people use the live version of striper cocaine on the flats.

I've had them rip sabikis full of herring right off ! We used them both live and cut on the Potomac at Fletchers . I've had to pull anchor and chase them down the river .

will let you know

got some sabiki's today and herring rigs by eagle claw, the herring rigs were the same setup just a bit larger.

now before anyone jumps all over me I will be removing all but two hooks to stay legal in MD waters.

I'm sure you could just get a few gold hooks and rig them yourself but $2 pre rigged with fancy trailers is a good deal.

Also stopped in Herbs this morning for some frozen herring as back up and he said so far there's only been one really big run of herring, waiting on the next one.
