What area, Andy? I had an inshore guide booked just south of New Orleans a few weeks ago but the weather didn't cooperate. Be happy to p-mail you his info. He came recommended by some relatives down there, but I haven't fished with him.

Jimmy- From what i've seen you can catch nice redfish right at your back door....i've got to get on an airplane to find some:D Your welcome to come and show me how it's done.

Shawn- I'm open to any area. I am heading down just to fish, so not limited to one area. Thanks

I fish the Barataria Estuary right out side of New Orleans with Mark Brockhoeft of Big Red Guide Service and Outfitters. His email is: [email protected] his phone is:(504) 962-9761 you can tell him I sent you, do not get any fees or anything like that, but good conversation starter. The fishing was always spectacular, but I heard it is even better then it was due to the hurricane. He is also one of the best guides I have ever fished with any where around the world.

Good Luck

I have fished several times in south Louisiana. If you want to go way down into the bayous and marshes, try Capt. Marty Authement Marsh Madness. Capt. Marty fishes out of the Houma, LA area. We found plenty of trout and some nice redfish during a Feb trip several years ago.

If you are staying in New Orleans or just to the north, try Capt. Kenny Kreeger, who fishes the Lake Ponchartrain area. You can reach him at <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = SKYPE /><SKYPE:SPAN class=skype_tb_injection id=softomate_highlight_0 title="Call this phone number in United States of America with Skype: +19859603068" mode=".compat" skypeid="0" skypeaction="call" nof="" isfax="" fwidth=".w16" type=".flex" path="file://C:/DOCUME~1/John/LOCALS~1/Temp/__SkypeIEToolbar_Cache/e70d95847a8f5723cfca6b3fd9946506/static/" durex2="48" durex="499" context="985-960-3068"><SKYPE:SPAN class=skype_tb_imgA id=skype_tb_droppart_0 title="Skype actions" style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(file://C:/DOCUME~1/John/LOCALS~1/Temp/__SkypeIEToolbar_Cache/e70d95847a8f5723cfca6b3fd9946506/static/inactive_a.compat.flex.w16.gif)" skypeid="0" skypeaction="drop" skypesms="1"><SKYPE:SPAN class=skype_tb_imgFlag id=skype_tb_img_f0 style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(file://C:/DOCUME~1/John/LOCALS~1/Temp/__SkypeIEToolbar_Cache/e70d95847a8f5723cfca6b3fd9946506/static/famfamfam/US.gif)"></SKYPE:SPAN></SKYPE:SPAN><SKYPE:SPAN class=skype_tb_imgS id=skype_tb_img_s0 style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(file://C:/DOCUME~1/John/LOCALS~1/Temp/__SkypeIEToolbar_Cache/e70d95847a8f5723cfca6b3fd9946506/static/inactive_s.flex.compat.gif)"></SKYPE:SPAN><SKYPE:SPAN class=skype_tb_injectionIn id=skype_tb_text0 style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(file://C:/DOCUME~1/John/LOCALS~1/Temp/__SkypeIEToolbar_Cache/e70d95847a8f5723cfca6b3fd9946506/static/inactive_m.compat.gif)"><SKYPE:SPAN class=skype_tb_innerText id=skype_tb_innerText0> 985-960-3068 </SKYPE:SPAN></SKYPE:SPAN><SKYPE:SPAN class=skype_tb_imgR id=skype_tb_img_r0 style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(file://C:/DOCUME~1/John/LOCALS~1/Temp/__SkypeIEToolbar_Cache/e70d95847a8f5723cfca6b3fd9946506/static/inactive_r.compat.gif)"></SKYPE:SPAN></SKYPE:SPAN>. See http://www.tidalfish.com/forums/che...maryland-angler/194391-louisiana-fishing.html. I have fished twice with Capt. Kenny. On the first trip (in May several years ago), he put me onto a 5-lb speckled trout. The report listed above is the second trip. It took place in Jan 2007.
