Stayed upriver today near St. Clements Island. Had a slow pick of 19 to 22 inch fish, biting mid-day. Kept the 4 we were allowed and maybe threw back about the same (including undersize fish). Noticed the water temperature was 37 to 38 degrees. Did anyone fish off of Stuarts today and was the water a little bit warmer? Hope to get one last trip in and then call it a season.

Good luck to all!

Steve,

Didn't get out until 11 am, marked some bait and fish a little downriver from the "B" bouy near Stuarts. Marked it on the GPS and went through it N, S, E, W and a few other directions. Was dragging eels, tomics, stretches, umbrellas (white and chartreuse) and a naked dbl bucktail. I hoped the tide change would turn them on, but it didn't happen. Also marked a few fish when trolled straight across from the B buoy to the VA side. Trolled all the way back to #9 and never even got a knockdown. Pulled them in at 5:05 pm at 9.

Oh well, there is still a few days left, and the weather looks promising ('cept for Sunday).

Talked to Full Page, and he didn't have any luck either (he was a little down river from me).

Good Luck!

Much appreciated. I had fished upriver the same day near St. Clements and had a slow pick of 16" to 22" fish, holding bottom in 40 ft. of water. May slip out again before it is all finished. Thanks for the heads-up.

After getting the water out of the fuel filter/seperator got out of Coles Point at 11;00 and headed to St Mary's river. Lines out and managed a nice fat 38"on a chart daisy chain in front of the red bouy. Marked tons of bait balls and fish but only one taker as the tide changed to outgoing at 2:30. What a beautiful day on the water this late in the year.Hope to try again Monday afternoon. Mike
My gauge was reading temp 0f 45 degrees.

Water temp looks promising. I have shore duty and honey-do's tomorrow, while the wind blows, and hope to be out Monday am until noon. Will let folks know how I fare!
