Thanks,

They are pretty much giving them away becouse it's obsolete technology for the most part.

If you have the room to swing a 5 ft. antenna and you don't care about the latest and greatests then it might be a good solution for you.

I am curious as too what is obsulete about them??? I have a two year old LCX28HD depth/chart plotter and love it. I can plug that exact swinger into my unit and have radar. I like the idea of having a stand alone radar unit though. If you go to the Lowrance website, that swinger is one of only 4 they have availible..........not an out of date model. Could you explain......cause I'm considering.

Lot of Radar for the money

The radar units are made by Sitex(Koden). They are current models sold by Sitex now
for over $2000. The ones badged with the Lowrance label didn't sell well, hince
special deals. These are X band radars, same as Furuno, JRC, Northstar, and
anyone else that sells radar for the recreational market.
Outdated? They all maybe soon with the advent of Broadband radar, due out
in a few months, but that's another subject. But for now you can have what
all the other radar users have at a fraction of the price. It works well, is very
colorfull, and easy to use. It will last for years.
