Things seem slow so thought I'd give people something to read. Just completed a five day 2600 mile trip to the Keys and back. My daughter moved to Miami and she needed to get her furniture down there, being the good Dad that I am, I said I'd get it to her. Thur the wife and I headed south with a trailer of furniture and two labs on board. Friday unloaded the furniture in her apartment in Miami Beach and we headed ot the Westin in Coral Gables. Do you rememder Beverly Hillbillies? You got it! Two labs on a leash walking through the marble lobby scattering the Gucci set, but the staff loved them.

Sat I took my daughter and her roommate to the Keys, so that she could get a feel for what she lived near. We had dinner on the pier at Worldwide Sportsman (BPS) in Islamorada and saw one of the best dinner shows in the world, the sun setting over the Gulf. If you're down there, try to go for sunset dinner. You won't forget it. Talked to some fisherman and ,as always, the fishing for almost everthing, was great.

So, yeasterday it's 80 and I'm in shorts and sandels. Now I'm looking at looking at ice in the front yard here in PA and I'm wondering where I went wrong. I can't believe I'm thinking of going fishing in VA, where I'll dress like an Eskimo and only fish for one type of fish. Man!!! I need a drink.

Wow what a trip! And What a Dad! It does sound like a marathon though. I hope you got some fishing in.
We have been to that Worldwide Sportsman you're referring to a few times. One day I happened to talk with the aquarist while he was feeding the fish in the big saltwater tank they have. It was cool to see the big bonefish and reds gobble up the shrimp. Bonnie and I had dinner on the veranda while we watched the sun set too. Beautiful.
I'm sure you both wish you'd stayed! :D

I can bet what the manager said was not as good as the employees...:D
Funny I had a previous wife on Isla. on a FREE trip and we stayed at the Days Inn It was July(nobody told me how HOT it was going to be)so I said I'll head out back and COOL off on the Atlantic side and walked for 1/2 mile or so looking for cool water Or at least something OVER a foot but never found either. Headed back to our room where I heard screams from my bride,Turns out she saw what looked like a Chamelion on the ceiling. She insisted we go to Ft. Lauderdale BUT I was allowed to stop at the WWS before leaving. Ah Mammeries mammeries...:D

John, I live 8 miles SW of Gettysburg, right against the mountains. There is a ski area right near our home, thus the board name. Echo's pic is of a manatee.

Dave, That's funny. My daughter's apartment is in Southbeach and those critters are everywhere there. It's nice to have wildlife even in the city.
