We had a great first half of the season in the mid rapp this year, things got a little tricky after Thanksgiving,, but overall I cannot complain. Thanks to everyone who helped out with fishing reports and info. MrJspleasure we missed you this fall, hope your mom is doing well.

My 12 yr old son is happy to fish with me until the end of the season. But then for the last couple of years our deal is that I take him snowboarding. It did not take him long to call in that chip... we went last weekend and had a great time. But I came home and told my wife that I have found a sport that makes rock fishing look cheap!!!!! And you don't bring home anything to eat. (she reminded me that happens occasionally with my fishing and hunting).

I am sore and sore about the cost, but spending that amount of time with him is almost priceless.

I hope everyone had a happy new year, I'm in the barn until spring. See you on the slopes... or in the marsh.

i have had newbies, that i have introduced to fishing, after finding out what what everything costs, make the exclamation that fishing is a very expensive hobby. And my reply to them is.......no, it's not...at one time i had a fuel dragster.....everything is relative.....................

Try being a middle age bald fat guy supporting a good looking younger gal.......double fast to the poor house with a broken heart to boot. Seen it many times with my way to wealthy clients that hunt with me in South America. How does the saying go. A woman's azzzz and a whiskey glass has been the ruin of many a good man. Glad I gave up both years ago an can just throw my money down a rat hole buying more outdoor stuff.

Rappangler Mom is heading in the right direction and I fully exspect to be back in full swing next year. We had an alright season but nothing to brag about. We never got skunked but my 5 year run on catching the boats limit of rockfish every trip took a hit twice this year. Josh and I will be running the rabbit dogs, and sliding down to Rudee to ocean fish and the Hot Ditch for a little bank action from time to time until the fall shad run gets underway and the Croakers show back up. Happy New Years to everyone from both of us and we'll be sure and post over the winter as we can.

Have a good one
