Brent just started up his car to large amounts of smoke coming from the exhaust pipes and its smell like burning oil ! Think its the seals ????

oil seals/rings/valve guide stems usally does not happen all at once.. if smoke is white and smells like antifreeze (and in th radiator of cranck case is milky) its the head/gasket (right?) alot of black smoke can be rich fuel/air mix, blue smoke is oil..

but good news, its not the crank shaft position sensor:thumbup:

it might help if you tell us what make model etc.. that usually helps..

Mike , thats up my alley ,
if it overheated at any time , most likely head gasket , if it smells like gas at the tailpipe
could be a missfire , Hyundai smokes like hell with a plug not firing
might also check the oil , if over filled it will smoke its ass off , when was the last oil change ? I have seen after market places that dont have a clue over fill them , it only takes a couple quarts for the smoke to start

Ok thanks for the help Brent decieided to put in an extra few courts of oil over the FULL line, they are now taking some out of the oil tank. Did this screw anything up being overfilled ???????

Should be ok , it will smoke for a little while
You have to burn the oil out of the converters , but other then the smoke should be good
That is why Lone ranger and I both say going to the dealer is the best place for a repair
We know the product and how things work, it may be a little more (but not as much as you think) but you will pay a lot more in the long run going to side shops that dont have a clue , and do damage then want to charde you to fix their screw up
