in a supermarket parking lot this morning walking back to her car. She was taken by one of Baltimore Counties Medic Units to GBMC. Has a broken left leg. 12 stitches in her right elbow. swollen lips with teeth marks, sore teeth (hard to chew) bruised forehead and right leg. Plus mangled glasses. On the way home we stopped by the optician and had them straightened out & refitted.
I suppose she was lucky that it was in a parking lot at a low speed. The driver said she was blinded by the sun and did not see her but the police officer gave her a ticket + 3 points. But that is little consolation.
I would expect that by tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday to real discomfort will set in. I had a prescription for Percoset filled and she took one pill which made her real loopy. She was given a soft cast to keep her leg straight, crutches and a walker with the instructions not to put any weight on the broken leg. She has an appt with an orthopedist doctor on Thursday morning. Chances are she will have an operation on her leg next week.
I was looking forward to the meeting on Wed. nite. If I don't make it you will know why. I am now Mr. & Dr. Mom. Will probably be out of work for the next few days until a new routine is established.
Finally, I asked Firefighter Dave to pick up for me 2 bottles of Papa Bears special sauce. Dave said he would. If I am not at the meeting and anyone wants the 2 bottles, please pay Dave for them. If not, I would appreciate it if Dave would hold onto them for me.
