Are there any mobile marine mechanics or service shops in or around Pasadena that can help with a timing issue. I have a 1987 Johnson outboard 70 hp.

Every mechanic and shop that I have talked to is booked through July.

Thanks!

Buy a manual. I just did mine on a yamaha. Pretty easy if it's idle timing. You will need a timing light.. Seems the loctite had failed and screw had move over time due to vibrations.

Did mine from videos on YouTube. You must find TDC (Top Dead Center) first and set a mark accordingly. I removed all spark plugs and inserted a screw in stop on the number one cylinder to find the exact TDC. Make sure you ground all the spark plugs leads when turning over the engine.
